Kevin began singing at the early age of two. As the story goes, his parents stood him on the communion table with a microphone and asked him to sing "Jesus Loves Me". Kevin chose to sing Glen Campbell's "Rhinestone Cowboy' first and finish it up with "Jesus Loves Me". To say that Kevin has always chosen his own way is a clear under-statement!
Kevin has many influences when it comes to singing. He is a long time fan and admirer of vocalists such as Michael English, David Phelps, Barry Manilow, Harry Connick, Jr., Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Michael Bublé. When you hear Kevin sing you can definitely hear a combination of all of these singers. Kevin often says that he was born way too late and was destined to be a crooner.
When it comes to trumpet, Kevin knew at the age of eleven that he want to play this horn. Like all young trumpet players he was drawn to the sounds of the greats like Doc Severinsen, Maynard Ferguson and Miles Davis. In high school Kevin was introduced to the trumpet sounds of Phil Driscoll. In the last few years, Kevin has become a huge fan of the beautiful trumpet playing of Chris Botti.
Kevin has now started to add the trumpet to his vocals, playing many Gospel and Christian standards but also plays many of the old jazz standards by Frank Sinatra and many others.
Kevin's playing is not the bright, piercing sound but more mellow and laid back. Kevin loves to sing ballads which blends perfectly with his style of playing.
You will be encouraged by the message and the music that Kevin offers.
